The KWON® Children Mouthguard Junior is designed to help protect the teeth and gums during combat sports training and competition.

The junior size is intended for children and young athletes up to approximately 14 years of age.

The mouthguard can be individually adjusted to the upper teeth using the heat-fitting procedure described in the supplied manufacturer instructions.

It is made from polyethylene, is latex-free and is supplied in a transparent KWON® plastic storage box.

Fitting Instructions

Please read the complete manufacturer instructions before beginning the fitting process.

You will need: water, a cooking pot, stopwatch, spoon and mirror.

1. Bring a pot half filled with water to the boil. Remove the pot from the heat and leave the water to stand for approximately 30 seconds.
2. Place the mouthguard in the water for exactly 90 seconds. Use a stopwatch.
3. After exactly 90 seconds, remove the mouthguard from the water using a spoon. Hold it under cold water for approximately 1 second and immediately continue with the next step.
4. Using a mirror, place the mouthguard over the upper row of teeth. The centre notch of the mouthguard should be positioned between the two front teeth.
5. When correctly positioned, bite lightly on the mouthguard and remove the water and air by suction. Press the tongue against the inside of the upper teeth. The outside of the mouthguard may also be gently pressed against the teeth and gums with the fingers.
6. Keep the mouthguard in the fitted position for approximately 30 seconds. Then remove it from the mouth and hold it under cold running water for approximately 30 seconds.
7. If the fit is not satisfactory after the first adjustment, repeat steps 1 to 5 in accordance with the manufacturer instructions.
8. If the mouthguard is too large, the ends may be carefully adjusted as described in the supplied manufacturer instructions.

WARNING: Do not chew the mouthguard.

For the mouthguard to fit securely and provide its intended protective function, it must sit correctly on the teeth and gums in accordance with the fitting instructions.

If the mouthguard does not fit correctly or becomes deformed through chewing, its protective function and durability may be significantly reduced.

Check the mouthguard before each use. Do not use it if it is damaged, heavily deformed or no longer fits correctly.

No protective equipment can completely eliminate the risk of injury during combat sports.
